PFAS, the "forever chemicals" contaminating drinking water across America, are captured by activated carbon filters. PFC-X destroys them and returns the carbon to service with a cleaner, lower-cost, all-electric reactivation technology.
See How It Works ↓These synthetic chemicals, used for decades in firefighting foam, cookware, and industrial coatings, don't break down. They accumulate in water, soil, and people.
The question is no longer whether to act, but how fast.
Regulation is only part of the story. Courts are already making polluters and water utilities pay, and that legal and financial pressure keeps building no matter how federal rules change.
PFAS is a liability time bomb. PFC-X destroys it.
Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) is one of the EPA's designated Best Available Technologies for removing PFAS from drinking water, and the lowest-cost option.7 As systems move to comply, GAC demand is set to surge.
The lowest-cost GAC of all is reactivated, recycled GAC. PFC-X is purpose-built to supply it.
Incumbent reactivation burns natural gas at 1,500–1,800°F. We don't. PFC-X reactivates GAC at room temperature: all-electric, no additive chemicals, no incineration, and near-zero product loss.
| Factor | Incumbent (Thermal) | PFC-X |
|---|---|---|
| Energy Source | Natural gas | All-electric |
| Operating Temperature | 1,500–1,800°F | Room temperature |
| Product Loss | 10–15% | Near zero |
| CO₂ Emissions | Significant | Low to zero* |
| Energy Cost | Baseline | ~60% of incumbent |
* Zero CO₂ emissions when powered by renewable electricity.
Hauling spent carbon to a handful of distant plants is costly. Our goal is a national network of 30–50 smaller sites close to the water systems they serve, minimizing transportation costs.
We're ready for scale-up now, so we can scale fast and catch the demand wave.
